Just My Thoughts…

I don’t like this world that we are living in. I don’t know if it’s just me or is there others out there? So much of brokenness around us and what are we doing? Those who complain about this sick world are probably the ones causing the problems or doing nothing about it. We live in a world that will grab a Ferrari at the expense of your bread and butter. Giving is better than taking but no one believes that anymore. We live in a society that aims high, so high that they will trample others to get there. Morals are out the window and what’s left in the room apart from chaos? We think we are good people because of what we have as if we worked for it but did we? We just acted shrewdly to obtain things without batting an eye. That’s the world we live in and sadly some people get into the rat race and they never get out of it. The rat race is when we strive to have a better lifestyle. So we get that car, we get that house, and all the luxuries that you can’t afford because it’s all on credit. Then you have a promotion and you earn more. So what do you do? Because you earn more you decide to upgrade your life. This results in you getting more in debt and you still have no money. So what has changed? Nothing! You still in the same situation, your life hasn’t improved! You still chasing money because of the debts and you still can’t sleep at night. We then compromise our morals because we are afraid of losing our jobs so we will do anything we are told to do. Hence, we are slaves…

Money has destroyed people by its existence and by its absence…

What about the Church? What are they doing? They are also in the system. Are they not? They preach promotion and money and blessings! You hardly hear about Christ and what He has done for you anymore. It’s all about what He can do for you if you pay more tithes. All those people who dress wealthily are handsomely welcomed but if a beggar came in, would they be treated Christlike? I don’t know. They probably would look down on them and think that God was punishing that person for their lack of faith. I remember being in a prosperity church when I was a kid. Everyone looked down on you as if you were a sinner. Strange enough, I probably knew the Bible more than them. I’m not boasting, they were. I remember when a man told my Dad during a meeting that the reason why he was battling financially was that he hardly spent time with God. Strange though, my Dad always had devotion every night. He attended church services religiously but that doesn’t matter, right? I would pray for God to bless me and provide all the things I needed but all I heard was my voice echoing off the ceiling and coming back to me with silence. Where you at God?

Some people treat God like He’s an ATM

‘Draw’ me close to you is what we say to Him

I stopped praying for blessings a long time ago. My good works don’t qualify for God’s grace. Yes, He provides but He gives because of His grace, not because He owes you. Not because you are a Christian. Not because you pay tithes. God is God and He is above all things. He cares for you. I learnt a lot during those times of struggle. It showed me my true friends and sadly, they are extremely few.

I wrote a book and wanted to publish it but I didn’t have the finances. I eventually got a job but now I don’t have time to edit it. I don’t have time to write anymore. I got a old laptop that takes long so I can’t do it when I come back from work. I write my poetry free style on the internet. I create these quotes for Instagram but that comes from my thoughts in my head. Sometimes I’m unable to write that thought down and so I forget it, never to return again. I said things to people that made them cry yet on the other side of the world someone is hating me for telling the truth. I encourage one person and then switch to someone who is debating against the Gospel. Atheists, Calvinists and people who believe that I’m too religious. Currently, 32% of my followers say that I’m too judgmental. I guess that’s what they call those who tell the truth. I write poetry for the Church and I know they not going to like it. But the day is coming when I will say what I need to say, and they will have to hear the truth.

Enough of the past and the present. Let’s go to the future. I’ve been thinking about a lot of the One who I will be spending my life with. I haven’t met her yet and I’m starting to question her existence. It’s hard searching for something rare but it’s even harder waiting for something that you expect to be coming. Especially when the clock is ticking. Many of my friends are already married or are thinking about it. I have never dated before because I’m waiting patiently for the One. People ridicule me, I don’t care but what if she isn’t real? I want a godly woman but it’s hard to see some in my church! I guess my standards are too high or they just succumbed to the status quo of church women? Maybe I’m too religious or self-righteous but I’m not willing to compromise who I am for the sake of infatuation. I’m not saying that these women are low standard but I’m not going to be in a relationship where there is no compatibility.

“Don’t worry Kristian, you will find a nice godly woman who you will marry.”

“Thanks, but I stopped believing in fairytales a long time ago…”

I’m someone with logic. I won’t give it up for emotions. Too many people let down their morals for beauty. But I rather find beauty in someone who leads me to Christ. You would be surprised to find how many people who regret marrying who they are married to right now. They hate men/women and trash talk marriage. I don’t want to end up like that. To marry someone is to dedicate your entire life to that person so you have to make the right decision! If you are interested in someone, don’t go hitting them up over text, they can hide who they are with those emoji’s. Spend time face to face and then you will know who you are dealing with. Because if you are having a relationship over a mobile device, chances are you will one day marry that stranger!

I have to admit that I have like girls in the past. Girls that I had admired or maybe I was just infatuated with but I never pursue them because I knew I wasn’t ready. The question is: How will I know when I am?

I feel in love with someone. Or probably the illusion that I have created in my mind of who she is or will be like. Chances are, my dreams will come true or I’ll be greatly disappointed…

The Trampled Gospel

Hebrews 10:26-29

26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. 28 Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?

A few weeks ago I came across a video of a man stating that when a Christian accepts Jesus into his life, there is no need to repent of his sins. He can continue drinking or smoking, he can sin as much as he desires because Jesus paid for all the sins from the beginning of time to the very end. Is this Christianity? Is this the truth? Heck no!

Acts 2:38, Repent and be baptized, every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins can be forgiven.

Can sins be forgiven without repentance? Just saying a salvation prayer ain’t saving you. Romans 10:9 tells us how to be saved – That if you confess with your mouth ‘Jesus is Lord’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

You are saved by confession and by belief. And of course, if we believe, that belief should change our actions. You cannot say you love God but dwell in sin. If God hates the sin, we too must hate it and avoid it at all costs. Sin is the separation between man and God. Jesus came to reconcile us back to the Father. Every act of sin just drives a wedge between you and God. If we walk in holiness, we walk closer to God. It is not good works! The work of sanctification is the work of the Holy Spirit within us. We just allow Him to change us. It is a decision, a choice we must make. If America and Russia are at war, an American cannot be involved in Russian business because that would be treachery. Same with Christianity. It is the kingdom of light versus the kingdom of darkness. As children of the light, can we play in the dark? No, we will only fall, stumble and get hurt.

Grace is not freedom to sin, it’s freedom from sin.

Sin causes hurt, pain and death. Why would we want anything to do with it? Don’t we want to avoid it all? The same sin you enjoy is the same sin Christ suffered for! Repent!

Repent means to turn away from sin and walk in the opposite direction. Many ‘repent’ but just go back to doing it. They say ‘sorry’ with the full intention to go back to their gratification. This is wrong. We can’t have the excuse that we have a problem or weakness. Christ has given us the victory. Sometimes we need to check our hearts. The only reason why we have that urge is that we still want the pleasure that sin still gives. If your heart is not in line with God’s will, sin will show you the way.

Mark 9:42-48 – If your hand, foot or eye causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better to enter heaven maimed than to be thrown into hell, where the worm never dies nor is fire quenched. (Paraphrased) Why does Jesus give us such a warning? That’s something to think about…

Sin is the problem, that is why He died. He died to rescue us from sin, so how can we back to it? That doesn’t make any sense.

He suffered so that we don’t have to face hell eternally, so can we not live entirely for Him? He gave His life for us, can we not give ours to Him? And how are we going to live a life for Jesus if there’s sin in it? If there’s guilt in it? How are you going to respond to God’s calling if you are busy running from the consequences of your regretful actions? Or recovering from the foolish decisions? That’s how people become stagnant in their walk with God. Redundant in their purpose. They are just people filled with shame, they feel unworthy to carry out God’s work when in fact they have unlimited potential to do things that could impact the world.

Sin stops you in your tracks and keeps you there, just there.

Another problem with abused grace is that we have grey areas. Like, can we get a tattoo? Can I drink as long as I don’t get drunk? Can I smoke? The Bible doesn’t say anything about that right? Can I go to the club? Can I swear? Can I kiss my girlfriend?

All these meaningless questions are so ridiculous and they don’t even see how meaningless they are! We have come to a point where we are actually asking: God, how far from you can I go without crossing the line?

So it’s no longer about how close we can get to God but how far we away we can go and still be safe. And that is the tragedy of Christianity, the Gospel is trampled underfoot by Christians who have no respect for what was done on the Cross…

Prosperity Gospel

Now, many are going to be offended by what I am going to say but this message has been stirring in my mind for quite some time now and indeed I must tell the truth. There is a gospel which is really no gospel at that is being preached a lot to the masses. Preachers all around the world are getting paid to preach this fine mirage that tickles the ears of the lukewarm congregation that never does anything for the kingdom of God. They wouldn’t, of course, because they don’t worship Jesus, they worship Mammon. They bow down low to money and that is all they live for. In my previous post Tithing, I mentioned that most people give tithes not because they are thankful for what they have but for what God is going to give them because they are tithing. I have read the Bible many times but nowhere in the scriptures does it say that God is our ATM. Nowhere does it say that He is our personal genie or Santa Claus. In fact, if I read correctly, it states that we must submit to Him and place our trust in Him.

You can’t serve both God and money…. (Matthew 6:24)

Does not God want us to be prosperous? Yes, absolutely! Does He want us to be rich? No, out of the question. You may think I’m crazy but guess what? Scripture states that it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God (Matthew 19:24). Yet in Proverbs 28:25, he who trusts the Lord will prosper. God wants us to prosper but not to be rich. There’s a difference. Prosperity is having an abundance, you have what you need and you give away the extra only for it to be replaced constantly. It is a repetition of God’s grace in your life. Being rich is having what you need and what you want and a ton more sitting in the bank, dormant. It is a repetition of greed.

Every time we choose money over Jesus, we betray him like Judas…

So what’s wrong with being rich? In Matthew 19:16-24, we find the story of the rich young man. He had everything he wanted. He was young and he had a lot of money, he could whatever he wanted, any girl he wanted, any possession he wanted to attain was his. But he couldn’t have Jesus???? And it was his own choice???? You see, when you become rich, you live for yourself, your desires, your affections. You believe in God but just don’t need Him anymore, your money brings you all the things you don’t even need to pray for. Your trust in God diminishes and eventually, you begin to forget Him. You spend more time chasing money, now you no longer have time for Him. You have a different circle of friends so you compromise your godly standards for gratification. Everything we aim for is the fickle things of this earth. Nothing is worth it, it’s all meaningless goods. And with the millions in the bank, you still won’t be happy…

If the devil can’t stop the Church with persecution, he will use seduction…

2 Timothy 3 states that in the last days, people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money ….. lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. Today, we have false teachers preaching about having a good life. This was prophesied 2 Peter 2:3. They lie to you, tell you that God wants you to be prosperous, to have a good life. To be blessed and wealthy.

“Make sure you give us your money otherwise you won’t get blessed. You gotta give in order to receive!”

Prosperity Gospel basically demands what is rightfully yours. That’s blasphemy! We don’t deserve anything. What we have been given is by grace and by grace alone. We never earned anything, what we have is freely given by God. God owes us nothing. He died to save us from sin, not so that you could be rich! Preachers out there are making everything about money. It’s time to rise up and live a life of purpose, not chasing the wind…

The real Gospel states that we must surrender and submit to God. Prosperity gospel states that God must submit to us.

I don’t think Jesus followed that motto. He loved us while we were sinners. Died for us when we were still dead in our sins. He loved us unconditionally. God wants you to be blessed and prosperous. But do we even know what that means? And maybe we already are? What about those who are poor? Those with no food? Those who have no shelter? Have these people sinned? Maybe, maybe not, but we are sinning if we are not sharing our blessings with them.

Time Lapse

They say that you only live once. Yet people gather possessions as if they are going to live forever. As if they will somehow gain immortality by working harder and harder. They say tomorrow is never promised, but in reality, it is. It’s just in a different location. Therefore, whatever we do, should be for that location. The treasure you gather here will be stolen, lost and rot, but if your heart is based on eternal things, it will last forever.

Death is inevitable, for it is appointed unto men to die once, and after this judgment. And one day you will stand face to face in front of God and He will ask you;

“What did you do with the life I gave you?”

What will we say? That we spent years studying to get a degree? That we obtained a good career? That we got that job and earned a lot? That we married that special person? Had kids? Got that promotion? Got that car? That house? Visited that wonderful place on holiday?

And God will then ask you;

“Where are all those things now?”

Because this world will be gone forever, a new one is coming. So everything you do here will not even be a memory! And then, in that moment of eternity, all that you ever strived for will amount to nothing. Everything you held dear in this world will be meaningless.

antique-classic-clock-1095601

Strange enough, all that we do for ourselves will be turned to dust, but whatever we do for God and for others out of love will last forever. Every word of encouragement will be recorded and every deed of charity will resonate in eternity but whatever you accomplished for selfish gain will perish.

In these last days, there are many lovers of themselves, who indulge in gratification and think that God is blessing them when in fact, the devil is just fattening the calf for the slaughter!

So look to Christ and align your affections to His. Keep Him at the centre of your focus, the centre of your life. He is life so you should eradicate all fear of losing yours. Would you rather use your life to change eternity or lose your life absolutely nothing?

Pilgrims Creed

Welcome Traveller.

We are only passing through so time is short. Make the best of what you can do. Every decision should not be for the program but for what comes after. Every decision matters! Due to some agents who have gone rogue, there are some pilgrims who have lost their way. If they are spotted, please make sure that you inform them of the right path. Some might not believe you but make sure you do. Do not be involved in anything in this journey that has no effect on what comes after. The very terrain you tread on will be destroyed. What you have been given will be lost but what you have been promised will remain. Whatever foundation you build will be lost. Every affection on the terrain will be in vain. All memories of the terrain will be lost. Your time with other pilgrims will be the only thing that will be worth it. Make every effort to keep your eyes on the trail. Do not find any comfortable spots, this will cause you to remain complacent on the terrain and thus lose sight of your mission. There will be agents to help you along the way. Stay on the trail and do not listen to anyone who is from the Rogue Force. They can lead you astray.

Warning! There are some pilgrims who have become traitors and will try their best to stop you. This calls for your endurance and perseverance. Never give up. If you lose your way, follow the light. Keep you eyes on the map at all times, it will lead you. Don’t lose your sword, it is there to protect you.

I wish you a prosperous passage on your journey.

Till we meet again, Traveller.

The Mantle Of Paternity

Since it’s Father’s Day, I want to explain the significant role of a father in a family. You will be surprised how much impact a father has in the future generation…

Now people might disagree with I have to say but I have scriptural back up. People say that there is no such thing as generational curses, however, this only true for those in christ Jesus. The problem lies in those who operate outside of Christ and in darkness.

Your sin will be the next generation’s curse. Your obedience will be the next generation’s mantle.

The smallest things you do has great effects on the next generation. Therefore, you have a great responsibility as a father. In Genesis 20, Abraham lied to Abimelech saying that “Sarah was his sister”. He was reprimanded by Abimelech for this. Strange enough, Isaac the son of Abraham did the exact same thing in Genesis 26. this small lies became a deception in the next generation when Jacob deceived his father for Esau’s blessing (Genesis 27). In fact, Jacob’s name means ‘he deceives’.

Jacob had twelve sons and one daughter. Joseph the son of his dear wife Rachel was his all time favourite. This didn’t please the other brothers so they decided to get rid of him (Genesis 37:12-36). They sold him to the Midianites who sold him to Egypt. The brothers then returned to their father with Joseph’s multi coloured robe and told him the greatest deception ever. For over ten years, Jacob grieved the death of his son who was still alive! A simple lie grew exponentially over generations causing a lot of pain.

child-family-generation-7835.jpg

All in all, we see God turning these things into good. How? because those in Christ are no longer under the curse. It is broken for those who are seeking God but those who rebel will receive their due. Be not deceived, God is not mocked. Whatever a man sows, that shall he reap (Galatians 6:7).

So fathers, you have a responsibility of what you do. Children may not do what you say but they do what you do. Whatever you do, your child will do better. Look at Elijah and Elisha! Elisha considered Elijah as a father and he performed twice as many miracles as him! If you sin, your child will do it greater. If you leave a godly legacy, your child will leave a greater one behind.

The Curse Of Comparison

According to psychology, one of the most evident causes for unhappiness is comparing yourself to others. This is profoundly true. It is amazing how comparing yourself to others can rid you the joy of what you have.

It is a proven fact that Facebook causes depression in their users because everyone seems to be happier than you.

If you don’t believe me, compare your significant other to someone else and see what happens. People don’t like being compared to others, why should we do that to ourselves?

When I was in high school, I wasn’t the most intelligent but people assumed that I was and many approached me for help with certain subjects. Some students used to say that before every exam I would eat the textbook and vomit it out on the test papers. The strangest thing is that there were more intelligent students than me. There was one guy who used to throw a fuss because he had 99% for a maths paper and he would demand from the teacher for that 1%. And here I am, thanking God that I got my 80%.

Happiness is relative.

Yet I always asked God: How come those students who don’t even know you, achieve such good grade and I don’t?

I went through school and eventually, the last day arrived and as I waited for my Dad to pick me up I overheard those students speaking about the drugs that they had taken during a party and that they were plotting for another go at it. I then realized something: They may be intelligent but that doesn’t mean that they have wisdom…

Wisdom can only come from God. Intelligence is from this world and it means nothing without God.

So remember, next time you compare yourself to others, what are you missing in your own life that you haven’t seen yet? What troubles are you begging from God that is in the that person’s life that you wish you could have? What standard are you using to justify that your life is dull and mundane? Is it the worldly standard or the will of God?

The world will tell you that you will be happy when you have that great job, marriage, house and car but look around, we see divorces, stressed jobs that leave no time for family, a car that drives you to places you don’t want to go and a empty house.

The comparison complex affects everyone but we need to snap out of it. The famous one is the single comparison. I used to be affected with this. There comes a time when you realize that you are single and it is like an epiphany. Strange enough, everywhere you go you see happy couples. They are mesmerized by each other and you wish you had someone by your side. What makes it worse is that I do online surveys and every one of them asks me my relationship status. Single.

The world has made it seem that singleness is a disease or some kind of hardship. but it is just a temporary time in your life. Enjoy your singleness, because once you lose it, to gain it back with either be the tragedy of divorce or widowhood.
